Peer Assisted Community Engagement (PACE)
Our Peer Support Workers are tenants who want to give back to their community. They provide one-on-one support and group activities in six Ottawa Community Housing buildings to promote tenant well-being, create belonging, and reduce reliance on crisis response.
Making sure every person belongs
It’s one thing to move into a home; it’s another to belong to a community. This is what our PACE program is all about. We employ and train Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) tenants across the city to provide supports to fellow tenants in these communities.
Our Peer Support Workers help with things like:
- Crisis support
- Linking tenants with resources
- Community programming (e.g. coffee social hours)
- Food security through initiatives like Good Food Box and other nutrition programs
Solving homelessness is about more than finding housing.
